GURUN – Gunung Jerai is set to make history as a stage finish of Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2026, introducing Kedah's iconic climb to cycling fans worldwide.
The 30th edition of the prestigious race runs from 27 September to 4 October 2026, crossing eight states over a total distance of 1,258.5 kilometres.
On stage two from Taiping to Gunung Jerai, riders will climb from sea level to nearly 1,000 metres — an ascent expected to be a true test for the peloton and a key decider of the general classification.
The selection of Gunung Jerai as a stage finish is expected to boost the 1,217-metre mountain's profile as Kedah's premier eco-tourism destination, drawing more visitors to the Yan and Kuala Muda districts during Visit Malaysia Year 2026.
