ALOR SETAR – Temasya Orang Kedah (TOK) 2026, held over four days from 30 July to 2 August at the Darul Aman Stadium grounds, drew an estimated 550,000 visitors from Malaysia and abroad.
Carrying the "Orang Padi" (Paddy People) concept with the slogan "Pakat Mai Meneqhu", the sixth edition of the festival showcased local arts and culture, including cultural performances, agency exhibitions, traditional games, and demonstrations and sales of traditional Kedah delicacies.
The festival was officiated by the Raja Muda of Kedah, Tengku Sarafudin Badlishah, and attended by Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md. Nor. Organisers targeted an economic spin-off of up to RM9 million over the four days.
The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) has pledged to keep Temasya Orang Kedah as an iconic state tourism event, in line with Visit Malaysia Year 2026. Last year, RM895,000 was channelled to 17 cultural organisations through the Cultural Sector Support Grant.
