About This Destination

The Langkawi Sky Bridge stands as one of Kedah's most iconic attractions, combining engineering marvel with breathtaking natural beauty. Perched atop Mount Mat Chinchang at 700 metres above sea level, this curved 125-metre bridge connects two mountain peaks and offers stunning 360-degree views encompassing the island chain, the Andaman Sea, and the lush tropical rainforest below. The journey to the bridge is itself an adventure. Visitors must ride the Langkawi Cable Car (Langkawi SkyCab), a gondola system that climbs to the summit through picturesque terrain. Over the 15-minute ascent, the cable car traverses beautiful valleys, forest reserves, and cool mountain air. Part of the cable car route features a transparent glass-bottom floor for those brave enough to look straight down. The Sky Bridge itself features a graceful curved design, allowing visitors to stroll leisurely while enjoying refreshing mountain breezes and crisp summit air. Near the centre, transparent glass floor panels provide a unique experience of seeing the green landscape directly below — a heart-pumping moment for many visitors. Since access to the bridge is exclusively via the cable car, tourists should allocate at least half a day for both experiences. The best time to visit is early morning to avoid crowds and enjoy clearer views before mountain mist rolls in.
