Mount Keriang Recreational Park

Mount Keriang is a limestone hill rising 238 metres above sea level, located in Kampung Gunung Hulu, Kota Setar district, Kedah. It stands as one of the few accessible karst hill formations within the coastal zone of the Malaysia Electricity Board (LLN) area near Alor Setar. Due to its unique landscape and high ecological value, the area has been gazetted as a State Game Reserve. Visitors can explore forest trails ranging from easy to challenging difficulty levels. At the summit, a viewing pavilion offers panoramic views of paddy fields and the entire skyline of Alor Setar city. Mount Keriang is also significant as a prehistoric archaeological site where artifacts such as stone axes and beads have been discovered. At the foot of the hill, small caves serve as habitats for bats and wildlife. Popular activities include hiking, fishing, and family BBQ sessions. The site is a favourite recreation spot among locals on weekends.
