Padang Garam

Padang Garam is a historically significant site in Kuala Kedah, Pokok Sena, located along the banks of Sungai Kedah near the Kuala Kedah Jetty. The name "Padang Garam" (Salt Plain) reflects the area's importance as a centre for traditional salt production and trade, an economic activity that has sustained local communities for generations. The area offers a serene environment with cool sea breezes especially in the late afternoon. Visitors can enjoy views of paddy fields and traditional village landscapes that retain the nostalgic charm of old Kedah. It is an ideal location for capturing sunset photographs along the riverbank. Kedah is famously known as Malaysia's "Rice Bowl," and Padang Garam adds to this cultural heritage by showcasing another important facet of the state's agricultural history.
